Hardware Specifications
If you used a Samsung Galaxy S II, then you’re already familiar with the note – the design is quite similar, although it is considerably larger, measuring 146.85 x 82.95 x 9.65mm compared to 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49mm for GS II. It is much heavier too: 178 grams (6.3 ounces) than its 116g (4.09 oz) predecessor. It has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash on the back and a two megapixel camera up front. The note can be annoying for some features, but photos snapped look quite natural. There are also 1080 / 30p HD video recording, with support for MPEG-4 codecs, H.263 and H.264. You can save all that multimedia 16 GB of internal memory, expandable to 32 GB with a microSD card – both of which can be accessed via micro-USB port. There’s also Bluetooth 3.0 + HS support and WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n.

Supports 21Mbps HSPA + (850, 900, 1900, 2100), LTE, EDGE and GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz). It runs Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor running Samsung Exynos. Note: offers a complete range of sensors such as accelerometer, compass and barometer together with the proximity and light. There are also A-GPS and GLONASS positioning.
There is a earphone upper grille, just above the Samsung logo, followed by ambient light and proximity sensors to the right, then a cam face near the shore. A single rectangular button at the bottom of the photos on the screen, backlit touch again flanked the controls menu. The top right of the silver bezel elegant, you’ll find the power button, a headphone jack 3.5 mm up there and volume control on the left. The micro-USB connector is centered on the bottom, just left of where it drags on the S. That pen is flush with the rear panel note fragile plastic, which should be removed when you want to insert a SIM card or microSD – or change the generous 2500 mAh.
Display
1280 x 800 pixels on a smartphone is quite a feat, and is as impressive to behold as it seems. 5.3 inches brand Super AMOLED screen is incredibly bright, vibrant and detailed, with 285ppi resolution. It has the highest density of pixels in the world (Galaxy Nexus assets is not, as Apple Retina panel on the iPhone 4 and 4S), but is enough to make amazingly smooth graphics – have a hard time to see the individual pixels with the naked eye. The display of images and graphics, web pages and even newspaper articles in question PressReader is when the real visual property to work.
Note the colors pop just like the GS II, that the eye-pleasing contrast and color saturation, we have learned to love Samsung’s AMOLED display and a bit ‘of liveliness is lost when viewed from the side. However, the color starts to wander a little maintenance. This is really a display PenTile, such as the upcoming Galaxy Nexus, and so is greener than the other sub-pixel color. This gives you all ever so slightly morbid tone, especially when viewed off-angle. Yet, you have no problems watching videos or viewing pictures with a group of friends – Assuming that none of them are purists in Hue.
If you fall into the realm of smartphone users who swears quite out of the keyboard on the screen, the display of the note can only earn more. A bigger screen means bigger buttons that are easier to see and easy to operate correctly – if you can reach them. You can also use the stylus S to replace the keyboard completely, leaving to write letters or whole words. The character recognition and writing is not perfect but good enough.
Less frequent words are somewhat less reliable.
Voice / Audio
Note the speaker is certainly loud, but the Samsung does not have any magic tricks pulled out of a hat here, when it comes to sound quality. Do you like listening to music or watching movies through a crappy desktop speakers? Well, then you might not mind the note. There is nothing unusual about a tweeter in addition to this small volume, so you might want to take advantage of the 3.5 mm headphone jack, when possible.
You must connect the set of headphones to be used as an antenna, and our taste buds, obviously it seemed to do the trick – although we can not pull a half dozen stations standing next to a window in the center of London, and those who were mostly static.
If you plan to make phone calls with the note, you can expect average performance. We placed a few test calls – some local and some across the Atlantic – and things sounded great on both ends, but not too strong. Callers on the other end of the line was barely able to distinguish between calls made using the earpiece and those placed with speaker, even when we speak of a foot or two away from the handset. Note the strengths clearly lie in what you can do with this screen and generous Pen S, if it is a fully functional phone anyway.
Camera
And ‘safe to say that the device provided a more than acceptable performance. This is expected since it seems to use the same sensor and the camera getup, we enjoyed iterations II, the Galaxy S else so far. Indoor air during the shooting, the camera was able to balance the color and correct exposure for most subjects still mode. Autofocus worked well most of the time, and a built-in flash popped right amount of energy – in our subjects, do not turn off. We had to stay just a few inches away from the subject for the camera, even in macro mode – so do not expect to be able to shoot close-ups. The noise was all about the darker scenes and the camera was not able to compensate for poor lighting conditions in some areas.
In Video mode, the noise was a problem too, but with a different type of road: The microphone seemed a little ‘overboosted, picking up a beautiful noise with the slightest breeze. During shooting, the camera had a hard time focusing and exposing from time to time, some elements of the left or overexposed. White balance was generally acceptable, but it takes a few seconds to adjust when you move the camera quickly between scenes.
Stylus / Pen S
Do not call it a pen! Samsung promotes S and Pen, which features you will not find a lot about poker plastic, may also earn the difference. One of my favorites is the ability to touch and hold on to capture a screenshot instantly, which is then opened immediately in an image editing program. Here, you can sign up to grab, twist facts, the signing of documents, making doodles – what do you do, really. From there, you can send it to social media sites, e-mail or save it on your device.
So what are some things you can do by holding the pen button S and slippery. Note that the button is almost microscopic. The finger was often difficult to find. However, once located, can hold and drag from the bottom of the screen to emulate the menu key. Slide to the right to emulate the Back button. No gesture of playing at home, but because it is a real physical button here, you can always try to answer with the stylus – or finger, is assumed.
The phone has a built-in Note that fast you can get a sticky note pad size from any page on the device. Just press the S button Pen and press twice – you can make a note, save it and drag it up later. The pad doubles in size when accessed from a dedicated app, so you get more space for more doodles. Like all other drawing applications, you have a variety of pen styles, sizes and colors to choose from.
There are a variety of unique applications designed to exploit the Pen S, S preloaded Memos application that collects notes quickly and provides a platform for the creation of a longer form of notes, and a handful of downloadable applications, available in-store selection S . Hello Crayon is designed for children to create colorful designs with crayons and markers of different colors – that have been created with children in mind, but we still had a great time writing it. Hello, colored pencils is very similar, but because you can imagine, the exchange of crayons and colored pencils. There is also a Chalk Hello, and you can certainly conclude the media of his choice out there.
In addition to this, we look at the Android Gingerbread – a little ‘a shame because the buttons on the screen to ice cream sandwich to work much cleaner with the pen S. User interface is certainly Touchwiz’d, but like other Galaxy products recently, we have a crush on adaptations here.
Performance and range
Note Galaxy can be introduced directly between the phone and the physical dimensions of the tablet, but when it comes to performance, I am happy to say that leans much closer to the latter’s first – in many cases, exceeded even the devices of this class. We run through a typical set of benchmarks and found almost all the expected speed of this device predecessors II Galaxy S.
In this quadrant phone husky threw a 3998 compared to 3200 GS II. Single and multi Linpack is 64.30 and 95.66 Mflops, 55 against and 81 Nenamark 1 and 2 resulted in 32.8 and 57.67, he hit on Neocore 51.77 and ran through the SunSpider in 2902 ms. These scores are very, very good output data classified 10.1 Galaxy Tab In most cases, and really set the bar smartphone.
Battery life is phenomenal. As you can imagine a solid performance 2500mAh battery, it is having to drive a giant screen (both in size and pixels) and high-speed CPU – energy vampires for sure. Our rundown test battery (playing a video loop from a full charge) made an impressive 9 hours and 36 minutes to put the Galaxy notes directly into the territory iPad.
Verdict
Note Galaxy is one of those devices that you completely love or completely hate – its sheer size would certainly be an obstacle for people with small hands (or pockets). With note, Samsung has succeeded in creating one of the largest smartphones in the world, but it’s also a smart incredibly compact tablet with a high resolution display – the same as the tablet Galaxy Tab 10.1 – without the clutter with high resolution. It is compact enough to slip into your pocket and powerful enough to replace two of your portable devices. The Galaxy Note is priced at Rs. 34,990/-
